Open Text Acquires Vignette
It seems Open Text's penchant for acquiring vendors of content management systems continues at full speed, the latest Vignette
What this means for Red Dot is yet to be made clear, but if Open Texts recent track history of acquisitions (Obtree & Gauss) is anything to go by then don't be surprised if Vignette becomes the new Open Text WCM of choice.
Sadly the big loser in these takeovers are the customers that have invested heavily into a product only to find the rug pulled and them getting a heavy nudge onto another platform, another reason to start considering an open source alternative like Alfresco perhaps?
